Fábrica de Tecidos de Vilarinho is a company that has been offering qualified, strategic and operational solutions in the textile area for over 90 years. Vilarinho specializes in fabrics for men's and women's shirts in 100% cotton, cotton/polyester, cotton/elastane, cotton/wool, linen, viscose and much more.
We are also an environmentally friendly company, as we produce fabrics with organic cotton and recycled yarn.

With a private plot of over 20,000 m2 in the village of Vilarinho, located in the municipality of Santo Tirso and 15 km from the historic city of Guimarães.

Our story

1932

Fábrica de Fabricos de Vilarinho was founded on the 16th of December in 1932, and was located on the bank of the Vizela River. It starts working with 61 mechanical looms for the manufacture of cotton, silk and mixed fabrics.

60s

Internationalization began in the 60s, to Africa, with the sale of 100% cotton fabrics to the countries of Angola, Mozambique and Guinea.

70s

In the early 1970s, with the investment in automatic looms, Vilarinho started to manufacture and export to Europe, especially kitchen towels and flannels, both for shirts and bed sheets.

2000

Vilarinho made a significant investment in the creation of new facilities. This important step was accompanied by the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and machinery. This initiative reinforced our position as an organization committed to providing high quality textile products and seeking innovation.

2016

With the increase in demand and recognizing the importance of meeting the needs of our customers and maintaining the quality of our products, we invested in a strategic expansion of our facilities. Through this expansion, we acquired new state-of-the-art equipment, modernized our production processes and improved operational efficiency.

2018

Vilarinho embarked on an exciting journey of innovation and progress, having invested in state-of-the-art technology systems in order to guarantee the continuity of its success.
Recognizing the environmental impact of traditional energy sources and the urgent need to reduce its carbon footprint, it took the first steps towards sustainability and a greener future by investing in solar energy.

2024

Em 2024 a F.T.Vilarinho investiu no aumento de energia solar, reforçando seu compromisso com a sustentabilidade e redução da pegada de carbono. A energia solar é abundante e renovável, proporcionando independência energética e resiliência econômica. A adoção de energia solar posiciona a empresa na vanguarda da inovação e responsabilidade social, garantindo um futuro sustentável.
